I'm back!! Again!

Hopefully all of my followers haven't forgot about me!  It's been over a month since my last post.  As mentioned in an earlier post, my family was faced with some shocking news about my mom's health.  My RA was the last thing on my mind obviously.  She's not out of the woods by any stretch, but we know she will get better after a long road :)

As for my RA...I had it under control and was feeling fantastic!  I've basically steered clear of dairy, sugar, corn, any chemicals (MSG and anything else I can't pronounce!) banana & wheat.  I managed to get through Christmas and New Years with no flare ups.  Then last week I went on vacation to Palm Desert and we ate out every night.  I was nervous but figured I could order carefully and stay out of trouble.

Not so much.....  after my first meal I felt stiff.  Then it got worse as the week went on.  I arrived home yesterday and am back to being vert strict.  I know why it happened (no real control of what they are spraying or injecting into meat or on salads/veggies)  and I know what I need to do!!  I would guess a few more days of swollen knuckles and feet, then I will start to feel better again.  I will keep you posted!!

Oh and the fatigue that comes along with it- I had almost forgot that part!  On that note, I'm off to lay down!!

  1. Hey Jen! I understand how you feel with teh flare and food. I have problems with it myself! I'm going to update my blog soon about some of the great benefits I've experienced lately with food choices and avoidances :) I'm glad to see it is helping you too!

  2. Great to see you're back! Not great to read that you are fighting effects of eating out. Pooh... : ( Hate it when that happens. I think the oils (vegetable, corn oils) restaurants use can wreak havoc with me. Hope it passes soon.
